Maxillaria cucullata est une orchidée botanique de taille moyenne, originaire d’Amérique centrale (Mexique, Belize, Guatemala, Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama). Il pousse dans les forêts humides entre 700 et 3300 mètres d'altitude.
